Brackley Beach to Mt Stewart 8.45 km and 35,174 steps

As always my hosts at Shaw’s Hotel and Cottages sent me off with a great breakfast. Eggs Benedict, sausages and a great cup of coffee.

Rain was in the forecast, took the rain jacket, but all I got was a few sprinkles so took off the rain jacket.

It was all Confederation Trail today. Saw no BB other walkers just a couple dozen cyclists.

The trail is mostly through wooded areas, used to be the railroad tracks.

Got to Mt Stewart decided to take advantage of a resting place before going the last 4km

Sat with 2 separate couples who were  cycling. One of the cyclists, Mary, bought me an ice cream cone. 

After some much needed conversation and the end of the ice cream cone, it was time to move on to the finish, Bishop’s B&B. 

Lobster dish of the day was seafood linguine which included a large piece of lobster tail.

   June 14th Charlottetown Arrived here safe and sound and checked into the Great George Hotel. This is a great location and hotel. It is a cluster of restored heritage buildings situated in Charlottetown's National Historic District and they have a pretty good complimentary breakfast too.     After checking in, went a wandering and stopped for lunch and had that most delicious bowl of chowder.   As I didn't sleep much on the plane, it was back to the hotel for a nap. Nap ended up being a little longer than planned.  Went to the hotel social hour and met some folks from Kelowna and Toronto and then off to dinner. Dinner was at Claddagh, and it didn't disappoint me.  Sunday June 15th - Father's Day Hi - today was one hot and hilly one. Walked 21.42km (36,585 steps) Started with breakfast at the hotel followed by transportation to my starting point #15 Kensington. My luggage was then transferred to my next stop in Cavendish. I transported myself by foot It was hotter that I thought it would be, very thankful for my brimmed hat event though it is slightly too big. Almost lost it a couple of times when larger vehicles went by or there was a gust of wind. Today's walk was all road and near the end it was became very busy with traffic. There was some nice scenery along the way. Had a break at this abandoned picnic table in the shade       The walk included several serious hills that needed to be walked up, the bench located on one of them was a welcome sight.         Saw a fox ever so quickly, it ran across the road, but it was too far and too quick for me to capture it with my camera. Tuesday, June 17, 2025 Day 3

This day started off again with a great breakfast. The hosts at the Rustico Golf and Country Club treated me like a celebrity. Got to meet their little girl, and they sent me off with some banana bread and a chicken wrap for my lunch. Last night I made the decision that I would take advantage of the transport service and travel with my luggage to my next accommodation, Shaw's Inn and Cottages. This would cut the first 8kms off my walk that were going to be an all-road walk. I did alot of that yesterday afternoon and I didn't want to repeat that.   So happy with that decision. I started my walk at Brackley Beach and walked the Gulf Shore Parkway. It reminded me of the Lochside Trail. It runs parallel to the highway, and pretty close to the shoreline     It was a windy day, slight over cast, but warm. It was a no hat day.
