Thursday June 19th Day 5 (last day)

Mr Stewart to St Peter’s Bay 25.43km 43,675 steps took me almost 8 hours when you include lunch and rest stops.

Left Bishops B&B at 830 after another great breakfast.

Today’s walk was all confederation trail. The walk from Morell to St. Peter’s Bay was the best part, before that it was much of the same,

Really focused on what was around me and not on the path ahead  as there did not appear to be an end to it. Really glad I did as I saw and read about things that I may have missed.

I got a surprise visit from my Beth in the Orkney Islands via a Facebook call. That was fun while it lasted, but we lost our connection. Same thing happened to Susan and I. Since I wasn’t there for our Sunday morning walk, I brought her along on my walk for a bit on Sunday.

I saw these holes that were tunnelled in the path and found out they were made by chipmunks, every time I say the word chipmunks, I hear “Alvin!!”

Also saw some beaver handy work. And some really odd shaped trees. One of them looked like it could belong in the movie Lord of the Rings.

Went past a pond where there was the weirdest sound coming from it, did not sound like crickets or frogs.

It was an overcast day but it was warm and humid. Was so glad to get to Morell. Met the Mayor of Morell. Had lobster wontons for lunch. Morell was sort of the half way mark.

How to explain the joy when I saw the sign for St Peter’s Bay and better yet to see that my accommodations the Points East Coastal Inn was just across the street. Sarah greeted me, settled me and brought me the best jug of lemonade I have ever tasted. Asked if I would be staying in for dinner or going out, said I was staying as I was done walking for the day. So glad I did. There were 6 women who were cycling around PEI so had dinner companions. Had the salmon bowl which was great, but the highlight was the rhubarb and strawberry pie.

That’s it for now. Talk later

❤️ Debbie
