Monday June 16, 2025 Second day of walking

Walked from Cavendish to Cymbria  24.42km 41,936 steps

After having breakfast at the Inn, I headed off on My Walk. It looks like it will be a good day for walking sunny, with temperatures from 12 to 22 degrees.

Got my first stamp in my passport, not sure how to get one for this leg.

The walk has been great so far, a little warm in the afternoons, and that seems to be where they put all the hills to climb and forgot the shade. Does give you a lot of time to think and ponder the meaning of life. Still no conclusion, but I have 3 more days of walking and thinking.

On the first part of the walk, there were lots of people on bicycles, mostly electric. No walkers. After North Rustico, there were no more bikes. I was the only one on the side of the road walking.

Stopped in North Rustico for lunch and had - you guessed it Oysters. They were the best yet, fresh out of the bay right outside the window and my second lobster dish - The lobster dip with naan bread.

With still close to an hour of walking to go, I was running low on water, and it was really hot, when I saw up ahead Gallants Country Food Market and Gas. I stopped in and bought 2 bottles of water and an orange popsicle. I can't remember the last time I had a popsicle. When the two young men behind the counter realized I was doing the walk, they gave me a big bottle of water to take, plus they put fruit in my pack back, 3 plums, an apple, and an orange. Which ended up being my dinner as the restaurant where I am staying tonight is not open and there is nothing around for miles.

My accommodation for tonight is at the Rustico Golf and Country Club in a GeoDome. It's more like a golf course with these geodomes.

I have learned a few things, I like my 70's playlist and Ian's 2024 Favourites the best for walking, turn around see the view of where you've come from. It's quite surprising sometimes how different it is. I learned that I need to hold onto my hat when large vehicles go by and be on the ready to grab it whe

there is a gust of wind and next time buy one that ties up under the chin. And that there are more nice people than there are not nice people.
